Tanner came to us at Blackrock from our dear friends Mike and Christine Mann of Blumoon in Boulder Colorado. He was on the red eye and I met him first thing in the morning. My life has not been the same since.
Tanner came to the east coast with a pedigree that was so different and unique that I just knew if he grew up, he could be very special. Oh boy!! Did he grow up. Tanner has exceeded all of our expectations. Not only is he a beautiful dog in terms of breed type and correctness, he also is a stunning mover. He can almost take your breath away as you watch him literally float around the ring, seemingly with all four feet in the air at the same time. But the nicest thing about Tanner is his temperament. He is so full of himself and truly believes that we, the humans, are here on earth just to adore him. (Which of course, we do). His tail never stops wagging and he is always interested in making new friends, whether it is on our walk around the neighborhood or at the ring while we await our turn to be shown.
At the 2008 National Specialty, Tanner (younger than everyone else in the Specials ring) held his own until the very last moment and was awarded one of the few precious Awards of Merit.
I’d like to think of Tanner as just my goofball, but I think that he may have some qualities about him that may make him a generational dog. A dog that many will appreciate for the great qualities he possesses.
With his wonderful temperament and soundness we hope that Tanner will have a positive impact on the breed. His young puppies already show promise and we look forward to seeing them grow up.
Tanner has become one of our top dogs. To date he has sired 29 AKC CH along with many Canadian and European CH. He is a top producer of working dogs.
He is currently shown only occasionally as a veteran. He is enjoying retirement.
